Her debut album Some Hearts was just certified triple platinum and last night her 6-week No 1 single 'Jesus, Take The Wheel' won a Gospel Music Association Award as Country Recorded Song of The Year during the event held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Underwood was unable to attend the GMA Awards as she was in Wilmington, North Carolina performing in concert. Upon learning of the news just before she hit the stage last night, Underwood said 'it's been amazing how this song has impacted so many people in so many ways. I am honored to have had the chance to be the singer to bring this song to people.'
