BYO - Bring Your Own. A popular practice in Australia when one eats out. It means bring your own liquour. Generally wine. A common sign in most restaurants, Australian loves their food and usually brings their favourite wines. The Australians are having a good run on their wine industry. France used to be top choices. Not now, the Australians are strong contenders.

But here in Singapore, BYOP - bring your own pit. No not dig your own pit - sorry no pun intended. It is bring your own barbeque pit. Wondered why they came up with this idea? Was it because inconsiderate picnickers left behind burnt patches when using their personal BBQ pits? Probably yes, but this is right smack out in the sun beside a jogging path at East Coast Park???? No shade and giving joggers free smells. Another Famous Amos?
