Flowers for You

Posted by Picasa

I loved this flower. Not sure how to spell the name. I shot this on my day out on National Day. Free entry for a number of museums and I visited the Ford Factory at Upper Bukit Timah where the British surrendered to the Japanese and Reflections at Bukit Chandu at Pepys Road (Pasir Panjang). Not able to get good shots cos it was crowded. It was a great time to reflect on our independence day. The darkest days of Singapore history, these museums served as reminders for the soldiers who died defending Singapore.

This flower was taken at the renovated Ford Factory. Now a hip museum, it has a garden behind the museum and some old railway tracks are still there.

May Singapore continue to blossom as we united together to build the city for the next generation. And to all who died defending our homeland - no words can describe our gratitude.

Fine Old Man

Third from the left is Rev Dr Canon James . He taught a course on money management according to Biblical principles which Sze Cheng, Elsie, Ning Jer and I attended three weeks back. And he served in Festival of Praise organising committee since it started many years ago. Still going strong. It is good to see one serving the Lord at this age so feverently.

A Penny For Your Thoughts

Shot at Festival of Praise 2006 Singapore. This lecturer has a way to make people think. We just finished a lesson on Why Do We Gather? - A look at the biblical basis for corporate worship. 30 lessons are broken into 5 sections.of 6 lessons each.

We gather:
. in response to God’s revelation
. to proclaim that He is of ultimate worth
. to respond to Him with each other
. to commit to a life of worship with each other
. to show forth the reality of God to the world.

Why Do We Gather is produced by PowerSurge Ministries.

I enjoyed his lessons very much as he was able to translate them into practical issues. Posted by Picasa

In Adoration

Lifting up holy hands.

Passionate Dudes

Posted by Picasa These two dudes are crazy over their love - Jerome, lover of guitars, Joram, his drumming.

Both had progressed much since they started to play in their youth group - Dumanis Rock. It is always music and jamming for them. As long as there is jamming, all other things are put on hold. And it is 'cheong' all the way for them.

Imagine if all of us have the same passion as they have for the love of their lives.

I'm not sure who took this picture. It is either XuYuan, Aaron or Janinez. Definitely not me.

Awesomely Cute Guitarist

"OMG. HAVE YOU SEEN THE AWESOMELY CUTE GUY THAT PLAYS THE GUITAR IN DON MOEN/ BAND. I WOULD THINK THEY MAKE IT A POINT TO HAVE AT LEAST ONE CUTE GUY AT FOP."

Quote

Is this the guy? Hope you like it.

Don Moen plays the violin and piano. He writes songs and produces albums too. And he worship leads. WOW!

Hi Don. Good to See Ya Again

It was great to see Don Moen again. No, I don't know him personally but his songs make good devotional worship. Saw Don in action many years back in Kuala Lumpur. In a worship conference organised by Intergrity Music at MCA Building?

Back then, worship started to get popular with drums, bass and electric guitars. He left an impression - I remembered he came on stage and started singing, and I can't help but being drawn towards God. Something, all worship leaders must emulate. To lead people into the presence of God.

He is still the same. Good old Don.

In Kuala Lumpur, I had food poisoning. I took a burger from the street vendor and it was hell. Cramped and puked. That bad.

Festival Of Praise

Tonight the music team is going to Singapore Indoor Stadium for Festival of Praise. We got four VIP tickets but maybe twenty of us. Well I guessed we gonna join the queue, I don't think we can squeeze into four seats. I have got two DSLRs ready with three lenses. 100/2.8, 18-75/3.5-5.6 and 100-400APO/4.5-5.6. I hope JZ is going. Gonna pass her the 18-75 and get her to shoot. And for JT the 100 and APO.

Both are in Temasek Polytechnic doing mass communications and next semester, they have a module on photography. So it is shooting time guys. Good to be ready and hopefully you get an A. It is gonna be a challenge shooting in low light condition. Well, you don't get to do this often. It is a rare opportunity.

Come back and see Don Moen and the CCR in action. I'm sure you will see some interesting shots.

See ya at Festival of Praise 2006

Woman At The Well

I liked this scene. The dialogue brought forth the message. A reminder of how Christ reached out to the Gentiles. His compassion. His love.

The Angelic Host

Ten years ago perhaps? I was in San Francisco enjoying the many busking in and around Union Square. Outside a mall, I was enthralled by the music from a harp. A lady in white played soothing tunes and I sat there for a while enjoying her compositions.

Music to calm the sould like what Shepherd boy David did for King Saul when he was tormented by an evil spirit.

Today, the scene play back with a young girl, Laura playing the harp at Methodists Girls School musical - From Eve To Mary. I'm impressed. At such a young age, she played confidently. Unfortunately, we were hurried along to the next scene. If not, I would had sat there enjoying a soul spa.

Way to go girl.

May The Force Be With You

She has a very pleasant disposition, powerful stage presence. Somehow you felt been drawn to her. She got the 'force'. The magnetism.

Didn't quite get what was going on for this scene cos I was busy changing lenses and shooting away. One of girls knocked into me when the dancers ran pass the aisle.

Sorry girl, hope that I didn't cause too much damage.

MGS Production Picture Gallery

Referred here by ARTMGS V1.1? (Thanks Mr Ong for tagging me).

Welcome. Thanks for dropping by. From Eve to Mary was great. The images are still lingering in my mind.

To view:

Album One >>> MGS
Album Two >>> MGS

(Sorry girls, Flickr max is 200 images. I have got about 280, so two albums).

The pictures at Flickr were posted at lower resolution so that I can upload as much as I can. In total there are about 280 pictures. Being part of the red apple audience, I didn't expect to move around and in quick succession. Had a hard time trying to shoot in low light conditions in this fast moving production. Did not had the luxury of a prerun and time to setup the tripod. It was like point and shoot. A struggle - to enjoy the play or shoot as many pictures as I can.

Thanks for the memory.

Compliments from Bang Wenfu
"Thank you all for coming. It's been a truly memorable production for us,and I believe it's one of the best school productions ever put up in Singapore. We're all very pleased".
